Dark Heart: sold to Canada's Super Channel

World Screen has shared the good news that ITV Studios has sold Dark Heart to Canada's Super Channel, which will apparently broadcast the drama in the summer.

Canada’s Super Channel has landed the rights to the ITV Encore and Hulu co-commission Harlots, along with two other dramas from ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE). The series, produced by Monumental Film & Television, will air exclusively on the premium pay-TV channel in Canada this May. The network also picked up the ITV Studios dramas Tutankhamun and Dark Heart, both set to air this summer.

“British drama has always resonated with Canadian viewers and Harlots has all the hallmarks of the very best British storytelling,” said Craig Bohland, VP of sales for Canada at ITVS GE. “Through its rich characters and sumptuous production values, it gives a new insight into a fascinating period of time. We’re excited to work with Super Channel to launch the series, along with Tutankhamun and Dark Heart, in Canada.”

This website has Dark Heart listed as being cancelled. I know that it was created as a stand alone 120 minute drama, but there was always hope that it could also be picked up to series. I cant find cancellation news anywhere else, but very disappointing if it is true. ITV hasn't aired it on the main channel, released a DVD nor made a digital version available for download, which made me think there could be a glimmer of a future.
