STARFISH is a remarkable and inspiring film, based on the true-life story of Tom and Nicola Ray's love and their survival in their fight against sepsis. When Tom puts his small daughter to bed one chilly December evening, he has everything a man could want – a beautiful wife and child and a second baby on the way to complete their perfect family. But the next morning all is in jeopardy as what Tom thought was a mild case of food poisoning turns out to be the far more devastating Sepsis. The amputations necessary to save his life threaten to steal away every last bit of his humanity as he struggles to come to terms with a new reality.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of Rutland, a small county in England, Starfish is a powerfully honest portrayal of the emotional extremes that a family must face when confronted with the unimaginable. It is the story of Tom and Nic Ray’s love, and of the survival of that love against all odds. Written and directed by Bill Clark, STARFISH stars Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey, A Streetcat named Bob, Liar), Tom Riley (Da Vinci’s Demons), Michelle Dotrice (Blithe Spirit, Some Mothers do have ‘em), and Phoebe Nicholls (Brideshead Revisited, Transformers: The Last Knight) and introduces Ellie Copping as Grace Ray.

STARFISH was produced by Pippa Cross, Mel Paton, and Ros Hubbard.
