ITV Studios has announced that 6 part series Dark Heart, starring Tom Riley as DI Will Wagstaffe, will launch to international buyers at this month's MIPCOM in Cannes. From the press release, it doesn't look like there will be a formal screening, as we saw in recent years with The Collection and Da Vinci's Demons.

Dark Heart (6 x 60), the atmospheric new crime series from critically acclaimed writer Chris Lang (Unforgotten) will also launch to international buyers. It follows DI Will Wagstaffe (Tom Riley), a workaholic whose personal life is as troubled and complex as his day job, as he investigates a string of horrifying murders. Dark Heart is a Silverprint Pictures production in association with Britbox for ITV, will launch in the UK this Autumn.

ITV has not yet shared a broadcast date for Dark Heart, though a new interview today with co-star Anjli Mohindra suggests that we could see Tom Riley on our screens at the end of the month: series beginning 31st October 2018. If the series does begin in just 4 weeks, ITV has left the promotion push a bit late. We should be seeing a new trailer and interviews very soon, hopefully.

ITV Choice Africa has Dark Heart as a coming soon highlight. Keep an eye on the website for broadcast dates, though according to this page about the show, it might be a little messy...

Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, and HMV have included Dark Heart in their latest lists of best TV shows to watch this autumn. HMV also thinks that Dark Heart will air in October. Cosmo has shared another article about the psychological impact of crime thrillers, which has an interview with Dark Heart writer, Chris Lang.
