Curiosity: Facebook group updates

Director Toby Spanton sent an update to the Curiosity facebook group members, and shared this new photo from the set. Visit facebook to access a hi-res version.

The exciting news this week however is that the film has been included in one of Total Film's features 'The Evolution of Emily Blunt'.

The feature lists all of her projects and 'Curiosity' comes in at number 17 between 'The Young Victoria' and 'Wild Target'.

Curiosity: blog review

By admin // //

There is a good blog review for the film on this website. Read it in full on the site.

With a lot of these home invasion thrillers, they tend to overstay their welcome and drag on into some tasteless territory...but this bad boy keeps it brief, brutal, and never boring...

...But yeah, I really dug Curiosity and I think this Spanton fellow is someone to watch out for.

Curiosity: Film Monthly review

By admin // //

Toby Spanton shared the iTunes link to the Halloween Shorts Collection, which includes Curiosity, and another good review from Film Monthly.com

Toby Spanton’s directorial debut Curiosity, on the other hand, is a terrifying nightmare. The film stars Emily Blunt (who starred in The Wolfman for which Spanton was a assistant director) and Tom Riley as a young couple who suspect that a murderer may be on the loose.

Their strange suspicions prove accurate when the murderer begins to terrorize them. In just nine minutes, an ordinary couple goes from tucking-in for the night to fighting for their lives against a killer, a radical change of pace from the previous film.

Curiosity paces itself with an ominous, haunting feeling, and the final tight POV shot on Blunt’s face is surely to stick in the brain.

Curiosity: great new review

By admin // //

Director Toby Spanton shared a great new review of the film from Cinema Crazed. Read the full review on the website.

Stars Emily Blunt and Tom Riley are show stoppers in what is a quite excellent creepy horror thriller with the classic take on "Curiosity killed the Cat" while also twisting the classic formula of Hitchcock's "Rear Window." This is a great little horror film, and I highly recommend it.
