While the exciting news was recently announced that The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial will premiere out of competition at this year's Venice Film Festival, it was quickly followed by the very sad news that the film's director William Friedkin died on Monday aged 87.

Murder Is Easy: new Agatha Christie adaptation now filming

Deadline has announced that Tom Riley has joined the cast of a new Agatha Christie adaptation of Murder is Easy, for the BBC and Britbox. Murder is Easy, a two part thriller, is now filming in Scotland with Tom taking the role of Lord Whitfield. This will be Tom's third Agatha Christie adaptation!

Dancing At Lughnasa: final show tonight

Dancing At Lughnasa's run at the National Theatre comes to an end this evening with the final show. The cast was amazing (particularly Tom Riley as Gerry) when I saw it, and I hope the final show is as fabulous as the one I enjoyed.

After the first flush of fabulous reviews for the National Theatre's Dancing At Lughnasa following opening night last week, several more have been shared online, mainly from the weekend newspapers. I am quite intrigued at how Tom Riley's performance is described: from jokey charm to projecting Fred Astaire (who would have been popular in 1936), and am really looking forward to seeing for myself.
